You make the product. Someone else decides how it's described.
You sell through distributors, reps, dealers, a catalog, maybe direct. Every one of those channels describes your product differently, because every one of them wrote their own description. None of them know why an engineer picks you over the alternative.
Meanwhile the buyer changed. The person specifying your part researches for weeks before they ever call anybody, and what they find is a distributor’s product page from 2019 and a PDF spec sheet. Your actual advantage… the tolerance, the lead time, the fact that you’ll do a run of four hundred… doesn’t appear anywhere they look.
So the conversation starts on price, which is the one conversation you can’t win.
